When we go on vacation, I always seem to take a lot of pictures of flowers...especially when we are in the tropics. I wasn't sure how to put them all together on a page until I saw one that my scrappy friend, Barbara, had done. This page was so much fun to put together...kind of like a puzzle of sorts.

Sister's album
My sister's birthday is tomorrow and I sent her an album for her birthday that I've been working on over the last year. I couldn't post the pictures here since she looks at the blog but since she received it today, it is okay to share a few of my favorite pages in the album. Most of them include her grandaughter which is my great niece, Ana. Some of you from the TSR scraproom will recognize some of the papers!!
Ready to go
Good thing scrapbook pages don't have to be made in chronological order or I'd be in trouble with this double pager which should have gone before the last one I posted and will when I put them in the book. I just made them out of order! The picture on the left is our group after they were all suited up in their equipment for the zip line. On the right, we are standing in line for our turn and in the bottom picture is my BFF and her husband, Roger, who took that hilarious picture in the previous post. He was the only one brave enough to take his camera with him on the zip line with no fear of losing it.

Laughing at yourself!
What's that old saying about if you don't laugh at yourself, somebody else will? Well here's a page where I am laughing at myself. How could I not? My face in the picture is hysterical. This trip to Belize was just six months after I finished chemo and I was still weak but I wanted desperately to keep up with the rest of the mission team. This zip line activity that we did one day tested my will. It was so much fun and normally it would have been right up my alley, but with my energy level still being low, it was all I could do to keep up. When we were finished, my arms felt like jello but I didn't say a word to anyone in the group so it wouldn't dampen the excitement of the days activities. I still can't believe I did it! Gary is on the second page in the middle between our friend Henry, and my dear friend, Jackie. It was Jackie's husband, Roger, who took this picture. This page was so much fun to do. I used a sketch that was one of the challenges over at The Scraproom. Remember if you click on the picture, it will enlarge it so you can see the funny face!

Girl Talk and Outdoor Cobbler
Still working on the Belize album. The first page is my pal Jackie and I with the missionaries wife, Linda. Part of what we wanted to do while we were there was encourage our missionaries. They spend so much time away from their families in the states and just some friendly conversation with someone who lives in your home country is a treat! The second page is of a shoe cobbler we would pass everyday when we walked from the hotel to the church. I wanted him to work on my shoes, but my husband didn't think he could do much for a blow out of a flip flop!!

We received another 5 inches of snow Friday night. I have scrapped snow pictures all weekend and promise I'll scrap something else soon.

Cool on the home front
My daughter and I were just saying that we are tired of winter now and we are so ready for some spring like temperatures. Unfortunately, there are none in the forecast. We are to stay in the low 40's for our high temps and in the 20's for our overnight lows. I don't run in the mornings unless it is at least 40 so I've been spending that time scrapping. Here are a couple pages that I've done this week. Photos aren't great as I have no natural light right now.

Was able to get a few pages done this weekend. The first one is for my daughter's album and the others are all for the Belize mission trip album. Check them out

Scrappin Tidbits
I've been trying to use up some scraps from papers that I just loved. Here is one of Jasmine in the snow. She hated it!
Here's another page for our Belize album. Not a great picture since daylight is at a premium recently. The journaling along the edge reads" The boat ride to the Mayan ruins was horrible. It rained and everyone was cold and wet. Shoes were squishy to walk in and hair was not picture perfect!

Storm
The winter storm brought a lot of ice to our area. We spent the weekend inside watching movies and I scrapped some. We took turns going outside with the pups. They are now 10 and 11 so they are older and we were worried they would slip and fall and break a hip. Jasmine didn't like the snow at all, but Jasper was curious about it and loved going outside. Church was even canceled so by yesterday, I was actually happy to get back to work to see people again. I work in the next county even though it's only a 20 minute drive. They didn't receive as much ice/sleet/snow as the county we live in did so my work was still on. The school systems are closed again today but Heather has to go in. Fortunately, the school she works at is across the street from where we live and she stays with us instead of her apartment when there is a storm.
The weather guru's are plotting another storm coming in this weekend!!!! I am so done with winter and ready for a good old Carolina summer day of 95 with plenty of humidity.
Here is a double pager I made for the Belize album using some paper scraps.
