black beauty

My husband isn't great at taking pictures, but he caught this black swan on the lake when we were in Canberra. I had never saw one, and thought it looked so elegant.

Hot

We've had 23 days in June where it has been over 90! It makes us wonder what July and August have in store for us. I've been running early in the morning just before sunrise and it is a beautiful time of day. I scrap when I get a chance. Here are a few pages I've finished recently.

Basic Gray Papers

The scrapbook kit club that I belong to (TSR)offered a page kit class featuring Basic Gray papers. I love Basic Gray so I was quick to sign up. This was the first one I completed.

Wild Thing

This is kind of a corny title from a song that probably nobody else remembers, but it is what I thought of when I saw these wild horses.

Cape Lookout

My family has decided to visit all of the North Carolina lighthouses this year. We started with Cape Lookout a few weeks ago. This weekend we are going to Wilmington to see one.

Seashore

Phil Waters was a missionary to Australia for over 17 years. I met him a few years ago when he was in the states on furlough. Gary and I were able to take him to dinner and get to know him a bit better. I liked him immediatly!! When we visited him in Melbourne, he was incredibly gracious to us and one evening as the sun began to set, he took us to the beach. As soon as Phil took his socks and shoes off, I was following suit! I love the feel of the sand under my feet. It was a sweet time of fellowship as we walked along the edge of the water. I wasn't sure how I was going to scrap these pictures, but I found a page my friend, Janine, had done and lifted it. I like how it turned out and the memories of that evening.

The Book of Roos

While we were in Australia, I got to meet two of my scrapbooking friends that I met online at The Scraproom. I had never done that before-meet someone in real life that you only knew online. They were both so sweet and I enjoyed the time with them so much. Gab was in Canberra, and Laura lives in Melbourne. Laura gave me this wonderful Kaisercraft kit to make a mini-album. It wasn't chipboard but a wood of some sort. I have been working on it on and off since we returned, but finally finished it up this past weekend. I knew even before we left Australia what I was going to use for the title. I usually give mini albums away, but this one is all mine!!

My Prince Charming

Gary bought an Australian bush hat while we were there, and he just loves it! We think he looks like a Columbian drug lord, especially with the sunglasses!!

Vietnamese Service

I used a "recipe" for this page over at http://sketchesbytamara.blogspot.com/. We were to use yellow, a mask, and an alphabet title. The sketch came from http://scrapbookchallenges.ning.com/?xg_source=badge.

Catching up

I just realized it had been over a week since I posted here. I am still plugging along with my Australia album. Here are a few more that I've finished. You should be able to make the picture bigger by clicking on it.
