Simple Pleasures

Sweet tea is such a staple of a southerners diet. Our Pastor was so surprised to find that Valerie had made him a pitcher of it when we visited her in Australia. We were visiting a wildlife reserve and she had packed a tailgate picnic for us which included the simple pleasure of sweet tea so far from home.

Eucalyptus

I surprised myself by being able to even spell "Eucalyptus"! I did put it through spellcheck to be sure I was right though! It was interesting to see so much of it in Australia. It is what the Koala's eat and the oil from the eucalyptus actually helped fuel the wildfires a couple years ago and made them worse. When you broke a leaf of it, you could smell the sweet scent.

I Climbed Currituck Beach Lighthouse

I still can't believe that Gary climbed this lighthouse knowing he has RA and would be hurting the next day...and he was!

Cape Hatteras

You are all probably fed up with these lighthouse pages, but hang in there, I only have a few more to scrap!

My 2 loves

This was a page inspired by Aymee Gandy aka A Southern Belle. I saw her exploding star and knew I wanted to give it a try. I didn't care for this patterned paper so I was willing to take a chance and do something different with it. If it didn't turn out right, I could just toss it and I wouldn't be bothered since I didn't like the paper. Well it turned out fine to me and I actually like the paper a bit better once I finished. Thanks Aymee!

Ocracoke Lighthouse

The picture is a little lopsided but it looks great in real life! I love Sassafras Lass papers. They are always so bright and cheerful. I was glad I was able to use at least one picture of the lighthouse with the light on at night and Heather and Gary in it.

Nap Buddies

I had a hard time coming up with a title for this page, but my friend, Laura gave me this one.
This is a sketch for Sketchy Thursday's site. http://sketchythursdays.blogspot.com/

Owl Toenails

My daughter has taken a new position with the school system this year and she will be mentoring new teachers. We made 30 of these bags, filled with binder clips and fancy paper clips for the teachers that she will have. I like how they turned out, but let's just say that owl toenails are very small!!

Let Your Light Shine

This is a sketch from Sketch Inspirations. http://sketchinspiration.ning.com/
We were so surprised to find that Ocracoke lighthouse still lights up at night and is a working lighthouse. It was beautiful by night and day!

cousins

I'm doing two albums for two of my daughter's friends as Christmas gifts. I enjoy scrapping little ones and my daughter enjoys seeing the pages starting to fill up the albums!
