Snow Storm Coming

We are expecting a snow storm ...that's right in North Carolina!! Whoever heard of such a thing? While everyone was stocking up on milk and bread at the grocery store last night, I was by myself in the ice cream and popsicle aisle. Gary is still recovering from having his tonsils out and we wanted to make sure he had lots of choices in the freezer! I am making a large pot of vegetable soup too. The monthly scrapbooking crop at my church was suppose to be tonight but has been canceled. I've done a little bit on my own this week but was looking forward to scrapping with the group. Here are a couple of pages from this week's efforts which are for the Belize album.

The street sign on the "Oh Henry" page says "Lover's Lane"!

San Pedro Island

The journaling reads: Motorized vehicles are not allowed in San Pedro. People walk, ride bikes, or use golf carts. Part of our group snorkeled when we were there and the rest of us rented golf carts and shopped the local stores.

Pets??

My sweet husband had his tonisls out yesterday and while he was resting I had to find something quiet to do...oh yeah, I can scrap! He's doing well for everyone who has been calling or emailing to ask. His biggest worry is making the right decision on what flavor of ice cream to have!!

Two little boys in Belize wanted to show us their pets. We were thinking cats or dogs but were surpised to see turtles and something from the possum family wrapped up in a baby blanket! Too funny. These papers were from Cosmo Cricket.

In Plane View

Either my husband or daughter took these pictures from the plane as it went in for a landing in Belize. This is the Prima Animal line of patterned papers. I love blue and green together and it has been one of my favorite lines.

Haircut

Our Pastor decided he needed a haircut while the team was in Belize. The barber shop was one of those "open air shops" and most of the group watched as he had his hair cut.

Belize

I've finished up a couple of albums recently so I decided it was time to scrap our two mission trips to Belize. My husband and daughter went in 2006 and we all went in 2007. I was scheduled to go in 2006 but was diagnosed with cancer six weeks before we left. I stayed home and went through chemo and they had a good time but checked on my frequently!! Here are a couple pictures of "The Icee Man". Our group would pay him around $20 a day to come make icees for the children who attended Vacation Bible School that the group put on during the week. It was so HOT in Belize that this was a nice treat for everyone...kids and adults.

The hospital

I am not a chronological scrapper. I've been working on an album of my daughter's childhood for months and today I am posting the hospital!! My husband thinks we look scared in the pictures. I told him we were. We were young and had no idea what we were in for with that little girl!!

Silly Baby

This was my first attempt at using the mesh that everyone seems crazy about in scrapbooking. I like it and was surprised that it is self adhesive and repositionable. I'll be using it again!

Winter Joy

Of course I had to scrap the pictures in my earlier posts. I am really enjoying this amaryllis. The center bloom is out and now the one on the second stalk is starting to emerge.

"Uncka" Gary

My great niece can't say "uncle" so she calls my husband "Uncka" Gary which sounds adorable coming from her. When I came to my blog to post this, I saw the picture of her in the pool in the right hand corner. It is smack dab in the middle of winter here in Carolina and my toes are numb so I had to laugh when I saw Ana in the pool.
